Overview: Here is an invigorating way to spend the first day of summer
and at the same time learn some fascinating local history! Meet at the
Bennington Monument, in historic Old Bennington, VT. The tour kicks off with a
1.5 mile loop that highlights the landmark sights of Old Bennington including a
FREE visit to the Bennington Museum! Bicycle from the museum, though three
authentic covered bridges and arrive at the Park McCullough House, an
exquisitely furnished Victorian Mansion. Take the optional guided tour. Eat
lunch on the mansions lavish veranda overlooking impeccably manicured grounds.
After arriving back at the Bennington Monument, take the elevator ride up the
306' Monument to overlook a spectacular tri-state, panoramic view.
Trip details: total distance cycled 17 miles terrain, somewhat hilly
rain or shine Price does not include lunch or tour fees. Shortcuts
available with support car.
Instructor: Kyle Jenks is a certified personal trainer, avid cyclist
and living historian. Kyle will provide background narrative on the area as you
casually ride and enjoy the historic and beautiful surroundings.
