Amazing Abs
-Core Strength Training

Location: Colonie

Overview: Abdominal muscles are essential in everyday activities and are often neglected when working out. Strengthening and conditioning this area will alleviate lower back pain, firm and tighten your mid-section, improve posture and balance, and build a support for exercising other areas. This workshop is for everyone regardless of where you are on the fitness scale. You will target the core muscles with medicine balls, crunches for upper, lower and oblique muscles. We also work with stability balls, broomsticks, light ankle weights and lots of floor exercises that you will be able to do at home. With the techniques you learn in this course, you will have an unlimited amount of floor work you can do with your entire family.

Topics: Sit-ups are out dated-customizing abdominal exercises for your body type • not all exercises are for everyone • myths and facts about the stretching of the stomach muscles • sit-ups and the relationship to your hip flexors • time table for proper consumption of foods • understanding what role proteins, carbohydrates and sugars have, and the effect on our lives

Instructor: Dave Jones is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a master trainer and 32 years experience in the fitness business. Recognized by the Times Union as a Fitness expert.
