Rope Making 101

Location: Colonie

Overview: This two hour course will impact the ancient art of rope making. In addition to “hands-on” rope making, by the end of the program each person will have the knowledge needed to build their own rope machine at home. Fiber and Cordage history will be covered.

Materials: Basic materials will be included. If anyone has a favorite yarn, string, cord, or other fibrous material which they would like to make rope out of, please bring to class

Instructor: Mike Speranza is a founder of the American Rope Makers Guild, and has been making hand twisted rope since 1982.
