Make an Adirondack Chair

Location: Troy

The Adirondack Chair is an American classic that can be enjoyed for many years when crafted with care. In this class, you will learn how to make your own chair out of cedar, a naturally decay-resistant wood that can be finished or left to weather to a beautiful silver gray color. Through the process, you will learn how to construct a piece of furniture with accuracy and precision utilizing a pattern, jigsaw, and simple joinery, sanding and finishing techniques. This class is an excellent introduction to the art of furniture making for beginners and a great opportunity for experienced woodworkers to construct a quality piece of furniture in a community studio.
