Selling Your Work: A Writer's Workshop
Location: Colonie
Overview: This class is the "hands-on" sequel to literary agent
Katharine Sands' New Writer's class. If
you're taking it now, have taken it in the past, or are already a published
writer looking for better results, discover the nuts and bolts of staying out of
the rejection pile by learning how to apply these principles to your proposal.
Learn how to catch an agent's eye, make your materials stand out from the stacks
on the editor's desk, and ultimately, get your writing into print. Bring in your
writing projects, pitch letters, proposals, plot outlines and query samples as
this is a hands-on workshop.
Topics: how to write a professional proposal for today's marketplace •
how you can create a winning promotional package • in-class and at-home
exercises aimed at honing your pitch • strategic secrets for selling your book
and your story ideas
